Practical Legal Support for Local Businesses

Running a business takes hard work, good judgment, and the right people on your team. I understand that because I’ve been there myself — not just as a lawyer, but as a business owner and farmer. Before starting my law practice, I spent 15 years in corporate finance and risk management at GE, where I learned how smart planning and clear communication can make all the difference. I also started and grew Eagle Valley Cutlery in Ripley, Ohio, and continue to work my family’s hay and beef farm. I know firsthand the challenges that come with balancing growth, risk, and doing things the right way.

That’s why I work with small businesses, farmers, nonprofits, and local governments across Southern Ohio to provide legal and strategic support that’s practical, personal, and focused on long-term success.

The Legal Business Partner Program

For many of my clients, legal help works best when it’s part of an ongoing relationship — not just an occasional phone call. That’s why I created the Legal Business Partner Program, a subscription-based plan that gives your business predictable, ongoing legal support and priority access to me as your legal advisor.

How the Program Works

Your monthly subscription provides:

  • Priority access to me for ongoing legal and strategic guidance
  • Standing availability for consultations, document reviews, and business questions
  • Proactive oversight of legal and compliance issues affecting your business
  • A set amount of included legal time each month, which can be used for things like contracts, HR questions, compliance reviews, planning, or management discussions
  • Unused time may roll over for a limited period as a courtesy benefit of the program

The monthly subscription fee is earned when paid because it covers ongoing availability, access, and general counsel support for your business. The included monthly time is a benefit of the subscription — not a prepaid retainer — allowing you to use that time as needed.

If your business needs support beyond your included time, we’ll work together to quote a fair hourly or project-based rate that fits your situation. Every plan is flexible and customized to your business needs.

Let’s Build Something Together

Good legal support shouldn’t just react to problems — it should help you prevent them and plan for what’s next. Whether you’re launching a new venture or managing an established operation, I’d be honored to be part of your team.
